Back in Portland, OR after what seems to be an eternity.. I don’t know what it is about this city that makes me love it so much. Maybe it is the way that the the dense clouds block the suns blinding light or how every person seen on the street look completely different from one another. Quoting one of my favorite television shows at the moment, Portlandia (for the love of irony) “The dream of the 90’s is alive in Portland..” I could not agree more with this statement. The grungy carefree lifestyle of screwing society norms and protesting is at its peak in this cloudy city. The eclectic style seeps into the pours of this city from the way people dress to the food served at street carts and boutique cafes. Everything about Portland is a little off.. which in my honest opinion is what makes it such a great place to be in. A person can be whoever they want to be, and of course they may get stereotyped by some of the locals.. but overall Portland is meant to be kept “weird” like the infamous sign says. I don’t know how to beat it into your brains anymore than I already have but I just wanted to state how awesome Oregon in general really is.
