Today was another gloomy day in Oregon.. Go figure. It has been one of those days where you just want to lay on a bed a just listen to the rain hitting the windows. I have become accustomed to feel quite relaxed by listening to it. Mixing the sound of the rain and listening to some 90’s rock music was my playlist of the day.
Vertical Horizon, 3 doors down, Yellowcard, and The Weepies..
don’t the 90’s just seem like a great decade? Jean Jackets, grundy clothing, nose rings and tattoos! Another great reason to live in Oregon… or more like Portland/Eugene, everyone is just so… 90’s. I know I have definitely reiterated the fact before about Portland being the grungy capital of the world but let me just say it again.. it is.
Lately all I have been wanting to do is cook… Since I am a starving college student and don’t really have means as to come up with a kitchen I end up staring at food blogs longing to get into the kitchen. Peanut butter m&m’s have been my favorite snack lately… while reading blog after blog.
who wouldn’t want a little Alexa Chung in their life??

Some new obsessions..
—Preview from my first photo shoot with the talented artistari.tumblr.com/. I want to start putting up outfits, and eventually when I have a kitchen to cook in again-some recipes!
Have a beautiful day!
—I LOVE this green and camel colored utility jacket!! with the ikat/aztec inspired trim on top it is an “I die” moment ( quoting Rachel Zoe).

PORTLAND, OREGON
—Back in Portland, OR after what seems to be an eternity.. I don’t know what it is about this city that makes me love it so much. Maybe it is the way that the the dense clouds block the suns blinding light or how every person seen on the street look completely different from one another. Quoting one of my favorite television shows at the moment, Portlandia (for the love of irony) “The dream of the 90’s is alive in Portland..” I could not agree more with this statement. The grungy carefree lifestyle of screwing society norms and protesting is at its peak in this cloudy city. The eclectic style seeps into the pours of this city from the way people dress to the food served at street carts and boutique cafes. Everything about Portland is a little off.. which in my honest opinion is what makes it such a great place to be in. A person can be whoever they want to be, and of course they may get stereotyped by some of the locals.. but overall Portland is meant to be kept “weird” like the infamous sign says. I don’t know how to beat it into your brains anymore than I already have but I just wanted to state how awesome Oregon in general really is.
